Ghost Investigation
Investigation tips
You're going on a ghost hunt and you don't want anything to go wrong. So what are you going to do? If you're smart, you'll follow these tips and you won't end up in jail, wet, bruised, or evidence-less.
First, get permission to be on the property you plan to investigate. It's not only considerate, but safer. There's no surer way to get yourself into trouble than to trespass on someone else's property.
Dress appropriately. Bring a jacket and an umbrella.
If you're going to be investigating after dark, scope out the property during the daytime. If you don't, you could end up cutting your investigation short because you didn't realize the cellar had only four foot ceilings--and ouch you're five foot ten.
Use a red light lens on your flashlights to protect your night vision. The popular tv show "Mythbusters" once did a special about pirates and their use of an eye patch to protect their night vision in one eye so they're always ready to go below decks. It works. If you limit your exposure to light, the darkness fades away and you will see much better in low light situations.
Bring battery backups. Some believe paranormal activity can cause sudden, quick battery drain in electronic devices. Having spare batteries as backups is essential if you don't want to lose the chance to use your equipment in a situation where you might have a greater than usual chance of capturing paranormal activity.
Finally, keep a list of your essential tools that you always look at before you leave. That way, you're much less likely to leave home without something that you're going to need.
