The Ghost Hunters DVD sets are easy to watch and enjoy, and this makes them a good addition to anyone's DVD collection.
Ghost Hunters includes Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson and their team members as they investigate haunted locations across the U.S. These ghost hunters are ordinary folks, and you can tell that when you realize Jason and Grant are plumbers by day and ghost investigators by night. Their interest is in getting to the bottom of paranormal activity to discover if it's caused by normal or paranormal events.
Specifically interesting is their attempts to debunk activity before attributing it to a paranormal source.
What I like about the Ghost Hunters are how relatable they seem. One could imagine joining them on a ghost hunt and having a memorable experience without the over-the-top paranormal hoopla you see in many other shows about ghosts and ghost hunting.

Personally, I recommend the complete seasons over the "Very Best of" sets. This way you can watch each investigation in its entirety. There are a few particularly good investigations of hauntings in the second and third seasons, but seasons one and four are also entertaining.
If your preference is for séances, mediums, and other spiritual events during ghost hunts, you might be more interested in the DVDs for Paranormal State. That show deals heavily in those issues. Ghost Hunters takes a much lighter approach to ghost hunting and the emphasis is on physical evidence, and often on the debunking of a haunting, rather than non-physical evidence of paranormal activity.
